My name is Amanda I have owned Great Danes for 15 years. I have a true passion for Great Danes and to better the breed. Here at Carousel Danes I am dedicated to producing quality Great Danes with the main focus on longevity, temperament, and confirmation. I have a small breeding program with only 1-2 litters per year. I produce harlequin, mantle, merles, and blacks.

If you decide not to for-go that route I would encourage you to ask lots of questions and make sure you are purchasing from a Responsible/ Reputable Breeder.

The difference between BYB(Backyard Breeders) & Reputable breeders in my opinion is:

Reputable breeders only produce a litter with the goal of improving their breed.

Reputable breeders have health tested dogs.

Reputable breeders always take their puppy back in the event a family can no longer keep them.

Reputable breeders microchip & register their puppies.

Reputable breeders participate in AKC shows for confirmation.

Reputable breeders have puppies that don’t look sickly and come with a current health certificate.

Reputable breeders almost always belong to a local or national breed club.

Reputable breeders don’t sell their puppies in pet stores.

Reputable breeders have a clean environment for all animals living in the home.

Reputable breeders have a spay/neuter contract that you must sign in place.

If you cannot find a Responsible/ Reputable Breeder I would encourage you to please adopt/rescue a great dane in need then purchase from a BYB/puppy mill.
