About Carousel Danes

So you made it to the “about me” section, and you must be interested in who I am. My name is Amanda, and I am the breeder/owner/handler/trainer for everything here at Carousel Danes. I am a true “Augustinian” as I was born and raised in St. Augustine, FL. I grew up around an abundance of dogs. My grandfather was an avid bird hunter and had anywhere from 2-10 dogs at a time. He also dabbled in breeding hunting dogs. I have always had a passion for animals since I was very little.

Our Mission at Carousel Danes

Great Danes have always been my favorite breed of dog. I don’t know where the obsession with them began, but it must have been Scooby Doo. After a few years of goofiness and growth, it has to be the regal appearance they achieve. I purchased my first Dane from a BYB and realized then the importance of quality breeding and what a responsible breeder would look like. That is when I decided I wanted to help better the breed and start my very own breeding program. I met Kelly Weidner in 2012 and purchased our Stud dog “Bane” from her. And from there, our story continues. I love having my dogs in the show ring and watching them enjoy their “job”.

I’m a Realtor and a Registered Nurse. My schedule is quite crazy, so if you have any questions feel free to ask, but please be patient as I do work full time and I’m constantly on the go. I will answer them promptly as my schedule allows.
